My first tutorial! Yay!

This tutorial has two parts. This is the second part. Here you will learn some tips for coloring in a sketch of an anime character. If there are a lot of concerns regarding this tutorial, then I will make a new one and take this one down. Please rate and comment so that I know if this is helpful!

Arima

This tutorial has images not drawn by me: Two images of Asato Tsuzuki from Yoko Matsushita's Yami no Matsuei, one of Carmen 99 and Wendy Garrett from Gorō Taniguchi's GunxSword and one of Nakano Hiroshi from Murakami Maki's Gravitation.

  • I freaked out to the way you colored your drawings AWESOME!

  • @LhamoEx Thank you! ^_^!

  • love this video i wonder if it works with water color pencils or chalk pestals

  • @jnleeanime I haven't had much luck with watercolor pencils. To check out an artists' technique with that medium, look up Sophiechan90's videos. Chalk pastels are fun. I only use them in conjunction with my colored pencils, though, so I don't have very good advice on using them. They make blending and highlighting a breeze!

Oh, and thank you for subscribing to me!! ^_^!

  • What anime people have you drew in your sketchbook?

  • Too many to list here! The characters I've drawn most often would be Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho, Hikaru from Hikaru no Go, Inuyasha from Inuyasha and....probably...Daisuke from D. N. Angel. I've been doing a lot of work with my own characters lately, though.

  • Ahh, nice, I've been getting into drawing anime and it's really cool. As long as you get the proportions right and it looks like them it's ok.

I prefer drawing female anime girls though XD

  • The reason I brought up the fact that I was an amateur wasn't to put words in your mouth. (BTW, I never said that YOU said it either.) I mentioned that and the fact that the video was a request to let you know that I *am* an amateur and that the tutorial wasn't my idea in the first place. (Meaning, I wasn't thinking I was awesome, or "pro" enough to make a tutorial.) It was relevant.

My use of the word "basics" is misleading, but I did put "anime" in the title, so you had some warning there.

  • Yes and Semi Yes.

Not saying that you are, but there are some "Anime artists" out there that think THIS is the standard to art. I was there at some point and finally got out of that.

But if you want to stay here with that, Go ahead.

Also Its fucking hard to find a decent Drawing video with colored pencils since 90% of them are anime and all the characters are some anime shit.

  • Whoa, hold on a sec. For me, the creation of any art, no matter what genre it falls under, should always be about having fun and doing what you love. Do you have something against anime art in general? Because if that's the issue here, then a good, long 'back and forth' isn't needed. I would just be horrible doing this type of work forever, completely content, and that's that.
