  • OK I should have toned my reaction down a bit. Yeah he was ahead of his time. And if a lot of viewers get motivated and energised by it its a good thing. I just wanted to say in my respose that his view is a very onesided look on thing. I just expressed it too heavy handed I guess.

  • - I know exactly what you're saying. We westerners have a very one-sided view of the world. We forget that the vast majority of people don't have access to electricity, clean water, free schools and many of the opportunities and freedoms that we take for granted. Someone wrote a good point about Africa somewhere here if you can find it...

  • Not thinking about what you want to accomplish is restricting your future.

kicking in a open door, beating a dead horse obvious.

Luck, The social network you start out with, Money and network of family, talent, intelligence, social skills, and hard work. Its the synergy of all these things that lead to succes.

This video is an oversimplification that is an insult to intelligence.

  • - Not sure what you are trying to say? Remember this message is over 50 years old. it seems you're getting a bit het up about it? Get out of bed the wrong side today??

  • umm my teacher made me watch this....

  • @sockemonkeye. Either you're a very wayward child or your teacher is a bit of a hippy...or both.

  • Talent, can be worked on. Social skills can be worked on and again you missing the point of the video. Also it being 50 years old has nothing to do with anything. The same principles hold true today, the same conformity surrounds us. People are crippled by anxiety, fear and pessimism. They play the blame game, blame others "success" on the family they were born into (which would have been true 50 years ago). Your comment was very obnoxious and it is you who seem unintelligent.

  • Luck is defined as "when preparation, meets opportunity". I think you mean chance? The video has a simple point, if you believe in something, you can achieve it. The video talks about hard work (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction). Intelligence doesn't mean success, again success is arbitrary and the perception of success is down to the individual. If you hold your goal in front of you, you will reach it, if you work at it all the time, this spells synergy to me.

  • Great Video. A Video To LIVE BY !!

    Love your work .

    Have a Great Thanksgiving

  • I think a few people are missing the point. You can see they are in the whole - part area of understanding but what he is takings bout is the principles of success which is exactly right. People in 3 rd world countries are more successful generally because they are not fed the illusions of the western culture. It's is a great speech and worth taking time to understand instead of challenge. PeAce

  • my sociology professor had me watch this and im so glad !!! Earls words are extremely inspirational, and made me look at things in a new light !!!!!! "We become what we think about",,,, "all you need is a purpose and faith, hold your goals before you " .... #lovedit
