Don K. Preston's Morning Musings 10 14 11 - A Very Special Announcement!

This morning's Morning Musings is a bit different. As I promised on FaceBook, I have a very, very exciting announcement to make. Agreement has been reached between myself and Joel McDurmon, head of the research department at American Vision (Gary DeMar's excellent organization) for a formal public debate. The debate will be held July 19-21, 2012, at my annual Preterist Pilgrim Weekend, at the Ardmore Convenation Center, here in Ardmore, Oklahoma. This promises to be a wonderful, high-level exchange, between a very knowledgeable Postmillennialist, and the full (true) preterist view of prophecy. I can tell you that excitement is already building for this! Space will be somewhat limited, so if you wish to attend, let us know asap, by sending me an email. I don't think I could be more thrilled, Don. With everything that Joel has written, he seems like a bright, balanced, thoughtful and honorable man. In my view, Joel will make a very formidable opponent and I believe he will be a perfect representative for the postmil camp. This kind of dialogue has been sorely needed for a very long time. And ultimately, I pray that truth will prevail. Thanks again, Don and for Joel's willingness to further the conversation.

Joel does seem to be a very nice guy in our correspondence, and I love his writings, mostly. I agree that this sort of debate has been needed for a long time. Things are a changin!

Joel will affirm a yet future parousia and resurrection. I will be affirming the coming of the Lord and resurrection in AD 70.
