Adam was 'practicing' his free throws when his coach came up to him. "How much longer do I have to do this, coach?"

"Until you actually make one in and stop making googly-eyes at the girl sitting in the first row of bleaches." His eyes narrowed as he turned and looked over at the girl, who was now casually paying close attention to her Coach bag.

Just then, Adam held the basketball firmly in his hand, hooked his arm, and made the basketball into the net with ease. "And that's my cue to go work at the three-point line." He said as he turned away from his coach.

"Hold up," He grabbed a fistful of Adam's shirt and pulled him back to the free-throw line. "There are scouts from Arizona State coming here to next week's game and I've overheard how much you want to get into that school, so I came here to tell you that if you want to get a good note from them, you need to focus on your jump shot and not getting a good shot for your girlfriend."

"Are you being serious, Coach?"

"Yeah, I'm being serious." With that, he patted Adam on the shoulder and left to tell Kyle that he should work on his footing a little more.

They were going through the final scene in rehearsals and Savannah sat in the back dressing room getting ready. She could hear Michael on stage and she listened intently for his usual lines.

"Hey, you want to go out and watch with everyone else?" One of the other girls asked.

"Uhm, sure." Savannah said as they slipped back out to the auditorium. Everyone's attention was up on stage to 'Dorothy' and the 'Tin Man.' She sat down with a couple of her friends and averted her gaze to the stage as well. Wow, he's cute, she thought silently to herself as she stared in awe at Michael.

Michael stepped off stage for a moment, speaking to Mrs. Frazier before coming back on stage with a bouquet of flowers. He was well aware of everyone's eyes on him, but he focused on one specific pair of eyes sitting in the middle row. He slowly got down on one knee, "Now I know I've got a heart, because it would break if you didn't go to Homecoming with me." He said, changing up his lines a little.

Oh, my Atlanta, Savannah thought to herself. Her eyes widened and she meekly looked around to see everyone's eyes on her now.

"Say yes!" All the girls cheered.

"Yes," Savannah answered, blushing fiercely. Everyone was cheering and though she was mortified that everyone's attention was on her, she shouted with glee on the inside. Tears collected in her eyes and she felt her heartbeat drumming in her ears. She saw a smile appear on Michael's face and she got up to give him a hug on stage.
