John & Yoko's Year of Peace: The year in question is 1969, when John & Yoko staged the notorious "bed-in" at a Toronto hotel to promote their campaign for world peace. The Lennon footage reveals him to be utterly honest, unpretentious, gentle, and approachable.

Double Feature with:
Peace of Ganga - Michael Edward Browning

Exactly one year ago today, on August 26th, 2010, Eugene's Unity of the Valley was graced by the musical mastery of 14th and 15th generation classical Indian musicians. The Maharaj family hails from Varanasi, India. On the banks of the Ganges (Ganga) river in Northern India, this city (also known as Benares), has been the fountainhead of music and dance in India for thousands of years, and has been called "the oldest city on earth." The Ganga, a river of prayer.

Pandit (Maestro) Vikash Maharaj is a master of the sarod. While the sitar is more widely known in the west, the more resonant, 18-stringed, fretless sarod is equally prevalent in Hindustani music of North India. He is accompanied on tabla by his oldest son Prabhash Maharaj, whose award-winning artistry combines lightning speed and precision with finely nuanced subtlety.

While steeped in tradition, they are also creative collaborators who promote the richness of classical Indian music as a still-vibrant and living art form. As a duo, as well as individually, they are highly sought as performers and teachers in India and beyond, performing to enthusiastic audiences at music festivals around the globe such as the WOMAD Music Festival, the Diwali Festival (NZ), Splore (NZ), and Jazz Open (Ger), skillfully using these stages to promote their peaceful philosophy. Watch for the joy in their faces as they play. On the same day, Kevin Kerner a producer of PeaceDay.tv interviewed Vikash for the International Day of Peace global broadcast. The YouTube segment echoes the interview, asking each member of the audience to consider, "What's your peace?"
