Day of Silence. 4/17/09

Tomorrow is the day of silence, not today. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement protesting the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies in schools. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today. What are you going to do to end the silence?

i am 1000% behind you on this. We are having a slience day tommorrow at my school and we can chose not to speak and our teachers HAVE to be 100% okayy with tht. Our gay allince club is handing outt bracletts, ke chains, and pins that are supporting. Iy was great of you to make this vid! :) GO SILENCE! hah

i have absolutely nothing against gay people! i actually think they can make more sesative and caring friends than straight people! i dont care if they kiss have sex do anything hang out go on dates or be in unity! really im not trying to be mean but i think that there cant be "marraige for gays" marraige is sacred. its for a man and a woman. but instead of calling it "marriage" call it "unity". that way we could have REAL MARRAIGE and then unity! and people would know the difference!

i hate it when people act like that too. i would have definitly supported dis if i knew about it. i have a gay cuzin n a bi best friend they r actually really amazin n cool people ma cuz is one of da nicest in ma family . i hate when people say bad things about gay people u cant control who u like n people shouldn't judge u for ur orientation.

we did this last year in school, peple had a piece paper to tell the teacher what day of silence was and they were fine with it.

aw, i didn't find out about it until right now. i probably would have participated if i know. i agree 100% love is love and you should be able to love whoever you want without being a "disgrace" .

everyone was like "i'm going to make you talk." and that was annoying but still, i got a lot of people that would support it next year.

I totally agree with this! I am disgusted with the behaviour some people in my class, even my friends, have towards gays, lesbians and bisexuals. Most of which, have never met a gay person, ad assume they'll come onto you if you talk to them. I didn't see this video until now, and I would of supported you if I had saw it yesterday. YOU ROCK! :P
