Not really, most of the time armour stops an arrow, doesn't stop a bullet.

Im glad its real archery in the film.

The bow has always been superior to the musket or arquebus until the 1800's. prior to that, guns suck just because of reload time and unreliability. One skilled archer= Ten noob musketeers.

Im a big rusty fan, however, a war bow is a long bow but a long bow is far from being a war bow. everyone in the film shoots from the lips, not a single main character shoots "in the bow"!!!!!!!!! no one fulldraws the full lengh and all of them use light bows. Of course hollywood people cant shoot real period yew bows but they could at least have them full drwaw to the ear and shoot "In the bow". Id have trained them in the real style for far less money.

Pedantic, I know... but not 'firing a bow and arrow', Russel! Shooting or loosing. Good film.

Love it when a movie strives for authenticity. You really get into it and it makes the whole experience much better. I grew up with the TV version of Robin Hood (Richard Green) so I didn’t think I would like this rendition of the story. Boy was I wrong.

But for the best warbows, you should go to Steve Stratton! :)

pretty nice vid. wish it took me TAHT long to know how to shoot the bow :P
Steve Ralphs is one of the UK's top bowyers, especially for making traditional English Longbows and Warbows :)
Nothing is better than the real thing of shooting a longbow and I'm glad Ridley let the actors shoot their arrows because it makes the movie look and feel more authentic.
Sequel, Sequel, Sequel, Sequel, Sequel, Sequel :D
