it is unfortunate. he could have done great wonders with sound cinema. he only did one sound movie. its odd that he died away with the silent age.
-
exactly, 47 is such a premature age to die at.

THIS QUASIMODO LOOKS LIKE MUAMAR!

@CutandPrintFilms is it good?

I'm reading the book!

Nah he may have done good, but he was made for soundless movies. He died with his era.

I am related to the actor that lays the hunch back
Lon Chaney
-
So much of the text exposition seems unnecessary when you watch this now, as Chaney showed the character from the inside out with his nuanced acting. His great sense of dynamics, moving from gentleness to anger to confusion to resignation to defiance with flick-knife quickness, powers the film by his force alone.

THE best version by far!

Chaney was brilliant. He gve Quasimodo a soul and a heart. It was more than the makeup, it was magnificent acting. A classic for the ages!

Talking about Lon Chaney's death around the time 'talkies' were being made I heard that Todd Browning was planning on casting Chaney in 'Freaks'. He would have been spectacular in that film, which is already a masterpiece in its own right.
Notre Dame is a great movie too. An astounding combination of his acrobatic skills and incredible makeup.
Thank you lots for uploading! I dunno how else to say it, but I really appreciate it! xxx
