Science isn't reality. it is just our understanding of it. That said however, we can actually manage to understand some of it, as opposed to religion, which as the original commenter quoted, is the disbelief of observation in favour of faith. Some science, though logical, can be inherently flawed, the difference is we accept our mistakes and learn, religion carries on blindly.

Finally, the underlying message to this, is a response to the people who claim that people who put their stock in evidenced scientific theory and research when formulating their world view and beliefs must be unable to see beauty and wonder in the world, and that it must be very boring for us.

In fact, the opposite is true. Go for a walk, read a book, look at a piece of art, observe science in action, and marvel at it's beauty. No God, no supernatural, no bullshit required.

Kay. First: Things are not always well designed and complex. It's just that it's usually only the well designed things that survive.

Secondly, Santa Claus isn't a particularly Christianity related concept, and any relation to the religion has long since been cast aside by almost the entire Western world.

Thirdly, homeopathy, psychics, auras and the afterlife are all things that do not help the poor and sick. Whereas medicine and science, are two things that can, and are helping.
