Removing the bronze soldier was made correctly.
Bronze soldier is in good shape, and after the checking and repairing the defects and all should be able to visit the monument in defense forces cemetery starting from 8th May.
Rumors about chopping up or destroying the monument are wrong.

It is possible to saw a hollow bronze structure into pieces within an hour and weld it back together within 2. It will probably take you another 3 hours to do nice surface finish.

But welds will be seen as bronze has tendency to oxidize over time. If welds are fresh they will look more shiny than the rest of structure. Any unexperienced person will notice this.
