  • Why the hell does Zubrin continue to waste time and energy trying to salvage NASA? He has been pontificating the same "Get NASA on track!" garbage for 15 years now.

Based on his own sermons, he should realize that NASA is a 100% unworkable bureaucratic and political nightmare.

The future is in private enterprise and companies like SpaceX and their Falcon Heavy booster. SpaceX has accomplished more in the last 12 months, than NASA has in the last 12 years.

  • I reckon a good deal of the tasks carried out on the ISS, could be carried out during interplanetary transit from Earth to Mars or vice-versa.

  • Missions to Mars will ALWAYS be 30 years in the future.

Such a shame. Trillions spent on wars and peanuts spent on what really matters - allowing life to transcend physicals limits through an inspiring engineering adventure.

  • Clearly few people have read his book, 'The Case for Mars'. Some people have absolutely NO IDEA. This is achievable and at a fraction of the cost that NASA keep quoting. They have committed too much to the ISS, instead of listening to this guy and acting on his expert advice. Ignorant fools they are.

  • We've got to get away from this non space ferring attitude of saying, 'WE CAN'T." No great explorers have ever said they "can't." Mars is the best case we have for experimentation of if we can leave our home planet and thrive. The future species of mankind may depend on our ability to spread our seed on other home worlds. One cannot and should not stay in his cradle forever. Robert Zubrin is a great, inspiring man with a vision and a mission for all of mankind.

  • @TheFluffyDuck Precisely. Like the laser, which is now used in commonplace technology that was undreamed of when researchers began toying this interesting idea....

  • yeah he just predicted what the actual verdict was. Spend money on tech that "maybe" usefull in the future.

  • @quelita28 no, it is simply utilizing technology and resources that god has allowed us to have.
