the song is saying it's funny how from one point of life, things can be so perfect, but from another, it can look like the brink of hell. the aspect is uncontrollable, so it isn't right or wrong. so pretty much so are fortunate, but at the same time, others aren't.

Could not have said it better myself...I agree. Dave's got such a talent, manages to interpret the world in an elequent manner. The endless wordplay he has in him is priceless.
