US philosopher Noam Chomsky talks about the transformation taking place in the Arab world, what lies ahead for Libya and the Middle East conflict. Watch World News Australia 6.30pm nightly and 9.30pm Mon-Fri on SBS ONE.
Why don't you calm the fuck down a little. That is one of the worst questions possible like I said, there are two answers to it and neither of them are funny. Chomsky is trying to be as nice as possible and laugh it off, but again that was a stupid inquiry. And your right he isn't a cult leader, he is an intelligent human being and I am just expressing my disdain for the interviewer's dumb question.
@16thHop Nasty or good-humouredly jesting? Parnaoid much? Chomsky's an academic not a a pristine Buddhist deity. When you're getting offended by joking, innocuous comments that quite obviously haven't offended him (notice the broad smile?), it may be time to turn down the cult devotion notch. He isn't fucking cult leader.
So many more pertinent questions could have been asked. Off hand-edly asking him to comment with terms like 'liberation' and 'democracy'. The man has spent the last few decades trying to unmake the easy and picturesque use of these Western fairy tales. I would love to know what he thinks of the position of Australia as an American colony situated in The South and what the increasing military presence of the hegemon means for our relations with China/the area in general.

what a nasty first question....
a) he answers yes he deserves it and appears arrogant by comparing himself with Desmond Tutu.
b) he denies it and embarrass the city of Sydney.
Nice way to start an interview

He is the greatest intelectual on the face of the planet.
Look who is interviewing him, and with what propaganda based questions.
However the enlightening answers of legend smack in the face of lies and propaganda each time.
Long live Noam Chomsky
