To answer your question, Hip Hop is similar to older Ska Reggae bcuz the point of live concert setting is to be as loud and thumping as possible so sometimes it may not sound as good(I love it though) This is changing thanks to The Roots who are a live hip hop band... More shows are using live instruments etc. JayZ also comes to mind as a rapper who sounds exactly the same live as he does on record. Hip Hop is a unique live show. Just 2 turntables HUGE speakers, some mics...and your soul....
