In a scene from Hook, Granny Wendy (Maggie Smith) reads the origins of fairies to her great-granddaughter. Visit my channel for more film scenes that quote novels and poems.

Although the explanation given here of how the story of Peter Pan came about is complete fiction, the words you hear are straight from JM Barrie himself, his 1912 prose novel "Peter and Wendy."

No copyright infringement intended. I do not own the content of this video and make no money from it. "Peter Pan" is, and forever should be, as Barrie intended, the property of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
