About a year ago, there was an announcement from Atari that a new Ghostbusters game would be coming out. There was some great excitement, as this game would reunite the original Ghostbusters cast almost 20 years after the somewhat disappointing Ghostbusters II.
Sadly, the Ghostbusters project was halted after crossing the streams. Yes, it was the merger of Activision and Blizzard that put the project to an indefinite end. Vivendi, now owned by Activision, announced a while ago that it would not carry the title with the merger.
So, while the Ghostbuster fans got negatively slimed, this next piece of news is enough positive slime to reanimate the Statue of Liberty: Atari has officially announced that the Ghostbusters video game is back on track, and set to release for June 16 2009 on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS, and the PC.
