George lies about wiretaps and then we hear the truth from an AT&T whistle blower. All of this and the White House cannot find the subpoenaed emails for congress. Maybe they should check that Room at AT&T
You people are just finding out about wire taps,, let me tell you this they can drug you in your home too,, How? ,, they run a snake through the drains and get them into your home either apartment or house and pump chemicals about 24 to 48 hours later your not quit right edgy, angered easy and emotional, This is the chemical interrogation methods they use. I can tell you so much you would be wetting yourself.
i cant blive a dumb arse politician like George Bush how easily took away freedom rights from Americans ..America is no democracy its just another dictatorship
you have a point. it is a slippery slope. sure bush violated the constitution by authorizing wire-taps without court ordered warrants. whats next? searching our homes/property without warrants? no free speech? no freedom of the press? not allowed to bear arms or maintain a civilian millitia?
That is because you never lived in a totalitarian state. The state is not always your friend, and you don't know what will happen in 20 years. After 20 years you may have a totalitarian government too, and they will use the information that you now consider innocent to incriminate you if they feel they need to get rid of you. Well, maybe not you, but innocent people nontheless.
you are misunderstanding. it records conversations after it picks up on certain keywords. SOMEONE then has to listen to those conversations ... the computer doesn't decide whether or not that conversation is a threat, someone who listens to it does. and i'm sure there are hundreds of "keywords" so there must be endless amounts of audio. lets just say only one out of every ten conversations on a phone has a "keyword" in it, do you realize how many conversations would still contain one!?
There is no "person" that listens to your conversations but rather a computer that listens and then looks for certain words ( like "bomb" "president" ) and then red flags them for a human to check out the context of you conversation. The satellite that helps them is called Echelon. Oh, the computer can listen to all phone cell phone conversations in real-time.
Court orders mean nothing if you have big business unaccountable for wiretapping or anything else for that matter. Once there is any unaccountability, you have no democracy.Big business is running the Government, not the other way around.
i dont care about wire taps. they can listen to me all they want. i dont see why it bothers people unless they are involved in illegal activity like Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich lol

There are just more pressing matters at hand ... wiretaps are the least of america's concerns right now.
