  • Great song. Thanks for posting. I miss hearing it on "The Ranch" radio station since I moved away from Wichita.

  • Listen close. Is she channeling Eva Cassidy? Amazing!

  • The first 45 I ever bought was "Angel on My Shoulder", I think the flip side was "His hair was Brown" or something like that. I named my first daughter Shelby; "Dad why, why did you name me after a Car?

  • I lived near the recently demolished Orange Bowl stadium in Miami as a kid. I used to ride my bike around the stadium walkways. One day, I was carrying a transistor radio tuned to a rock and roll station. This song came on. I was so moved by Shelby's voice, I actually fell off of my bike. I just laid there, bruised and bloody, listening until the song ended.

  • we saw Shelby every time she appeared at Donte's in North Hollywood. She is such a sensational artist, vocalist and keyboardist. her performances with a fine group of jazz musicians for backup were always a delight. pity that great talent so often goes unrewarded. thanks Shelby for all those great evenings.

  • Classic! Amazing, the stuff you stumble across on Youtube...have always loved this song ever since the 45 came out 51 years ago (!!!), This is a great performance.

  • sensational version!!!

  • So sweet!

  • Shelby's voice is even more touching, and this smooth jazz version is adequate; still I'll treasure the original 1960 arrangement with the plaintive guitars and simple beauty. a great song.

  • 50 years later, the singer and the song, still beautiful. Through the years, as I have heard her sing the original, it has always made me feel very, very good.
