@XIXDeadGirlXIX666 I started with Saddlebreds, and used them as lesson horses. I find them all individuals. Some are beginner horses, and some are advanced horses. You just mount your students accordingly.
@XIXDeadGirlXIX666 ... I don't quite agree with you. I went from Polo ponies to American Saddlebreds. Most people go through some sort of lesson programme when doing saddleseat, and a good lesson horse is a good lesson horse, regardless of breed. When I taught, all my lesson horses were saddlebreds, from the quietest, to the one who thought he was 'really something'...but all of them were good to learn on. Morgans are great, but I don't think one needs to "work up" to a saddlebred.
I'd say that you should work your way up from a Morgan, since you've been riding quarter horses. Morgan's are great for a first saddle seat horse. Then if you enjoy it enough I'd recommend either choosing a saddlebred or Arab since both breeds tend to be very high strung. Trust me, I started out with Morgan's and then moved to saddlebreds, best way to make a transition between a different saddle to saddle-seat. hope that helps ^_^
wow....so cool. I have a quarter horse right now, but after working at a morgan barn for half a year i really wanna get a nice park horse. Morgan, Saddlebred, Arab....not sure.
