"La Regina dell'Opera" (1948) produced by Vecchia Regina Productions.
On the heels of her performance as the Goddess Diana, Miss Linguine insisted she play an older woman, a retired opera singer on the brink of self destruction, who finds new hope by helping a street urchin.
Directed by the author, avant-garde novelist Luigi DisCounti, the plot treads the fine line between neorealism and poetry.
Of added interest, the closing scene (shown here) is Miss Linguine's first appearance in the medium of color film. Sadly, today only the last eight minutes of this film are known to exist.
