@mart6661 toyota is cheap to buy, cheaper to repair, has zero technology so any grease monkey can fix it. when they get technology, it has already been around for atleast 15 years so still anyone can deal with it.

@mart6661 Being reliable and being a good offroader are two very diferent things.Land Rovers, in my opinion, are one of the best offroaders you can get but the Land Cruiser is very very reliable, much ore reliable than the LR but not as good offroad.

@sigung01 You are perfectly right on that. But still noo matter how good you are, if you drive a car that is bad off road, it just wont go as good as a Discovery or a MB G-Class...
And don't forget about the tires, it is 30% important for off-roading!

@mart6661 Toyota is a little more stronger then the discovery when it comes to agressive and irresponsible driving off road. But Discovery is by far a much better offroader (especially on sand), that's a lot because LR developers gave a lot of attention to the Terrain Response system, and they did a great job with that! Toyota tried to copy LR's Terrain Response and did their Multi-Terrain system, but it's just an pathetic "chinese quality" copy!
