Wow, it's almost 2012, and the Amiga - ST flamewar is still alive and kicking? Lmao.
-
@buzzboxed The Amiga also had 64-colour (Extra Half-Brite) and 4096-colour (HAM) modes.

@sydbolton This demo runs the same on a standard ST or STFM too :P

Nice demo - but I have to respond to the Amiga fan boy comment. "Could not be reproduced by from an ST" - well, that's probably still correct (although I've learned to never say never). The STE was a LOT different from an ST in that you had 4096 colours and a blitter chip - two things the Amiga already had and one of the main reasons why Amiga fanboys said this. I highly doubt they made the remark about the STE. Just saying.

@sydbolton many STs had blitters and the STE could display on screen 16 colours like the ST (Amiga was 32 on 320x200 i think)even though you could choose them from a bigger pallette(4096 instead of 512) the only thing that ST was really in lack of was the circuitry for the hardware scrolling and the sound chip(YM 2149)....anyway around 1991 i had plugged in my JUNO 106 on my ST along with cubase ....at that time amiga fanboys were playing with....noisetrackers..:P ...Atari Forever!!

Awesome demo. But Atari ST soundchip isn't analogue, there's no samples, but it's still digital. The only anaogue soundchip, I think, was C64's SID...
