The controllable pitch propeller acts as a variable power transmission for more clean GREEN fuel efficient engine operation. It's computer controlled to continually shift much like an automatic transmission in a modern car. This makes it hassle-free and easy to drive with smooth shifting between forward and reverse. It marks a major improvement over fixed propeller systems and greatly increases fuel economy from running the engine at its most efficient rpm for the given load. Even the 1909 Model T had two forward gears - recreational boats still have only one. The same action also results in the highest possible conversion of power to thrust at the nozzle much like modern airplanes starting with the SR-71 Blackbird. www.iijet.com

WOW that ability to have Neg. pitch is amazing. that could make one hellaova stunt airframe with the right pilot

I was checking variable pitch propellers for aircrafts and i found this video.
Check out some aircraft props and even better for low speed maneuverability check helicopter rotors and get some ideas.

that looks great have you thought about making one for a propeller and not an impeller?

That is very impressive. What force changes the pitch? Is it pneumatic?
whoflungpoo292 9 months ago
@whoflungpoo292
The force taking the pitch from full forward to neutral and reverse is hydraulic. An internal spring returns the pitch to full forward, which is a safety feature to get back to the dock without any electric or hydraulic power to the controls. Thanks for asking.

WOW!, this is one serious piece of engineering, very very nice!

@1BustedMyth Thank you!

That's a rather large impeller. Is there one to fit your standard Berkeley or Dominator pump? Has one been tested in a high-horsepower application? I have 730hp on engine and sometimes spray 325 more of nitrous on top of that.
Pretty neat.

@ControlIssues851 Wow! Your engine is a whole lot faster than we are designing to accommodate. But thanks for comments. Enjoyed your video. We are aiming for fuel-efficiency at variable speeds and loads, together with acceleration and low speed maneuverability. Thanks!
