this is what gets me so annoyed, everybody wants to develop old factories into retail , but what happens when we need the factories again???

Visited what was left of her last week. So sad. Our Beth Steel in Baltimore is also a shadow of it's former self after being sold time and time again.

My step father worked there for 40 years. Part of that time he operated the crane that now holds the sands sign. I remember watching the flames out of the blast furnaces when I was a kid. all gone now....what a shame.

@DougsTrains Interesting. To have been able to see blast furnaces is a sight few people have experienced. The crane makes for an unusual sign. What a small world it is! I see you have an interest in trains....I just made some videos of trains that I saw at the B & O museum in Baltimore. Once you see the beauty of such wonderful trains you have to wonder how it can all come to an end so quickly.
