Donnie demonstrates some of the most basic muay boran defensive tactics against the muay thai round kick. However, the one block I use with my forearms is actually from muay chao cherk. And I swear, my spanish is better than that.

  • Depends on what your goals are. If you wanna fight in the ring or MMA, I suggest learning from a ring style school first. If you're into the art /tradition of muay thai, then I suggest you go the muay boran / muay chaiya route first - that is if you can find a school near you. Otherwise there are a couple of camps in Thailand that focus solely on muay chaiya that I can recommend.

  • @gigafristajl Wydaje mi się że Donnie B nie zna polskiego -.- /sorry Donnie, this man thought that you know Polish ;)

  • @whotookdonnierules So wait... You're posting a video showing a technique that you admit would never work in real life? I studied Muay Boran in Phuket, and continued that education while in the military. None of the styles that I have seen involve teaching techniques that even the teacher admits are useless. This seems to me to be an example of somebody claiming to know how to do something, and then clearly demonstrating (and even admitting) that their technique is useless.

  • @jack91x No way in hell would I depend on the drop my knee and catch a kick over my head technique in a real situation. That's an old, old master technique from a bygone era. But it, no matter what our shared opinion on it is, it is a muay boran defensive technique. Some of the muay boran/muay chaiya stuff doesn't wok in modern combat, but I wanted to provide some context. What I teach is not meant for the ring, and there's always a counter to any strike, and then a counter to that.

  • I intend to learn the Muay Boran martial art one day soon. Should I learn Muay Thai first and then Muay Boran or the other way around?

  • This guy talk a lot...

  • so baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
