This was taken from the choir loft at St Saviour's Catholic church, Bristol. It is one of the first times I have sung tenor in a semi-professional choir, I shall never forget it. Neither, I think, will anyone else who attended, who all told me that it was a very moving experience. I'm sure Fr. Crowdy enjoyed it from heaven, although I'm sure the music there is much better!

  • Singers are Soprano: Rachael Bevan, Alto: ?, Tenors: Rupert+Dominic Bevan, Bass: Tony Bevan

  • Do you have the full video of the Requiem Mass?

  • Unfortunately the batteries on the camera died during the introit. However I know that others filmed the mass, so I'll see what I can find.

  • Unfortunately the choir at Preston is quite bad now, Francis. Simplified chants sung mostly by older ladies and lots of rather syrupy 1940s hymns. The quality of singers and choice of repertoire is quite bad. Polyphony is seldom attempted and when it is it usually ends in several different keys. Unfortunate really, as I understand Preston had a wonderful choir some years ago.

  • Composer is Anerio. I sung this a while ago.. I'd like it at my funeral, I think.

  • that performance is really pretty. i'm sorry for your loss.

  • Very good! Love it! Keep it up!

  • Thank you for placing this video on Youtube.

Father Crawdy was one of the best priest I ever known in my life and as so sorry I couldn t make it for his funerals.

  • Who composed that Introit? It is absolutely beautiful.

  • Alto is Kevin Beckett apparently - I just asked Tony.

  • very good performance! (not off tone like these french people usually do... (private joke)

  • We have a wonderful choir at Our Lady of Victories SSPX church who sing a wide repetoire of traditional Catholic polyphonic music, the singing at Fr. Crowdy's funeral is beautiful. God Bless the SSPX and all those true Catholics in tradition.
