Scottish fiddle music featuring Colyn Fischer performing a set of tunes composed by James Scott Skinner.  Colyn has twice won the U.S. Open Scottish Fiddling Championship (once with the performance of these tunes).  This set was performed in concert with the Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers in Pacifica, CA in Dec 2007.  The tunes are 'J.S. Skinner's Compliments to Dr. Macdonald', 'Miss Lyle', and 'The Hurricane'.

  • Awesome! where did you learn to fiddle like that? Is there a website I can go to to buy these tunes? :)

  • @jeffneil86 I've added links in the video description (above) to the CD that has this J.Scott Skinner set. Colyn performed it in concert with the Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers. I've also added a link to Colyn and Shauna's (Peat-Fire Flame) website where you can find a 'store' with their music.

  • amazing playing makes this Scot in Japan homesick

  • Great job as always Colyn! Your passion and precision shows through. This is one of the better recordings I've listened to, but nothing compares to hearing him live. His violin also has a rich tone that Colyn really knows how shape into some of the most enjoyable music I've listened too.
