US harboring foreign terrorists

Imagine a convicted terrorist sitting next to you on the beaches of Miami. Sound bizarre? Not if you are Raul Diaz Pena. Convicted of terrorism against foreign consulates in Caracas, Pena was sentences to nine years in Prison. This past May he was given benefits to leave the prison every weekend for work, family and school related reasons. He took that opportunity through those privileges to escape the country and traveled to the United States where he is being labeled a political prisoner by members of Congress and the mainstream media. The Venezuelan government has expressed outrage and deep concern over this case, but have not received any further information from the US government.

I live in South Florida and I find this report shocking. What I find even more shocking is that this has not been reported at all in our local news. I tend to watch Local 10 news, and I posted a small note about this story and asked why the local news is not reporting, and they removed the post??? Is there anyone on here from South Florida who might be able to add insight?
