Dammit! I knew that long hooking-up of the uploading was something from Youtube's End! GRRRR!

Well, i fell sick last two weeks; and to prevent me to go insane due to being bed-ridden most of the time, i began to experiment to get good quality videos with quite big compression via AvySynth Coding and VirtualDub Converting. The result is QUITE Delightful even now that is uploaded on YT. It remained in HQ all the time.

This also was to test the new DS Emulation software and also, my personal codings with Avisynth. In a nutshell:

-A new DS Emulator was used in order to see its capabilities of game displaying. Laggy when recorded, but you get a beatifully accurate and clean recording.
Thanks to ZeroHorus for this new tool for working on pokemon battles :D
-Colors were improved with filters to make it look more vivid-like (Even with the video record set to VGA colors, the tweaking did great into getting them more DSi vivid-like)
-Cropping, of course, was used to make this video only for the upper screen. After all, most of the action takes place up.
-Special "Lossless" Resizing coding was used to get the movie to fit screens like YT without losing much quality of the whole picture. Results convince me that it could do a little better, but this is quite awesome as well.
-FFDShow YUV codec was used for compressing. It preserved the quality and compressed the video to the smallest size i have seen so far.

With these new tools at my disposition, the possibilities could be plenty. Not only for pokemon battles, but for ANY kind of DS game i would like to point something out. Boss Walkthroughs, Gameplay, Certain things...etc

DISCLAIMER: Pokemon is copyrighted to Nintendo and Game Freak And its respective owners as well. Same goes for the tools used to make this video. Nothing is mine, except for the gameplay footage.

  • Where have you gotton that emulator? *___* Mine isn't working correctly and I've already tried quite a few^^°

  • A very good friend of mine gave it to me recently. I don't know where he got this version of DesMuMe unofrtunately, but perhaps googling for DesMuMe 0.9.5 could help you to find it...o at least, that's what i think.

  • I see, thanks a lot :D I have the version 0.9.4 and it always stopped at some point óò

  • If the games did started, but then stopped to respond upon entering a battle or exiting a place, it's the Rom Check. Depending on the HG/SS you use, you should get a patch for it (if it is the USA one, better wait for it as there's none done yet)

If the emulator crashes/gets an error, then it is DesMuMe. I recommend to get the 0.9.5, as it's the same i use. Still, don't know where my friend got it from though

  • I officially hate you for this impressive quality (D)

  • Errrr....thanks, my liegue? >_>;

  • Indeed it is.

I'm heavily surprised with the quality results of the encoding, and how it remained almost Lossless after the Youtube conversion.

This has opened me paths to many things to think to do as well heheh.

  • quality is pretty good (Y)
