Old Fashioned Shaved Ice Desserts from Taiwan

in korea, they put shaved ice, red beans, some strawberry milk, tiny bits of rice cake, some jelly, and sometimes fruits like watermelon

This is the best desert I have ever had in my life and is my favorite.

I prefer the soft tofu with peanuts and ginger syrup.

mmm...summer in taiwan..I miss home already.

I remember my uncle taking me to an ice dessert stall when I was a kid. I wish they had these in the States.

This DOES exist in the US...just go to the Asian communities

they fill up a bucket with cold tap water, and then put their bottled water and tea in the bucket so the drinks will stay cold.

that same water is the water they use to wash the bowls used for eating. i saw them take out water from that same tub they use to cool their bottled water and tea, and then take it to the sink and rinse bowls with it.

bet you've never tried it where the ingredients were scooped out by the servers with their hands.
