  • Another topic we need to get addressed is issue of MALE caregivers or strong, capable females who can PHYSICALLY and mentally handle the stress of caring for autistic adults with challenging behaviors. I screen nurses based on their althletic, emotional resilience and intellectual abilities. If they don't, they're out. I can't risk having nurses around who can't handle the demands of caring for severely autistic patients. More males nurses cnas lvns are needed for adult males with autism

  • Informative video. California also struggles with supporting unique and complex needs of autistic adults. We've fought hard to keep our son at home with in-home supports, as he's very fragile. If someone hit him, he'd hit himself. He's also non verbal. He loves being at home. He's attatched to us. But it's not always easy, especially when supports are cut or downplayed by bureacrats. Some autistic people do better at home. Our son is one, but I'm glad parents have options to place, when needed

  • As a mother of a severly autistic child, I worry about this all the time!
