Majnu. Excellent! I think trixapete misses the point. Such positions are really hard to crack with rooks still on the board. Capa had to work out a precise series of moves which finally reached the zugzwang. This is incredibly difficult. At most levels this would probably be a draw! Leaving the the g pawn en prix because of the tactic bringing the rook to g8 etc and using this tactic as part of his whole plan to win the f pawn is the mark of Capa's genious!

I am trying to figure out why the option of the one pawn ending after E6 (2:29) is undesirable.

I'm pretty envious because I know that no matter how much I play chess or analyze it there'll be people like Capablanca who know the game instinctively and will always win situations like that. Great vid btw.

Ok, here I am here again. I think I see now what would happen, for example if: 1-...Rc3 2-Rd8,Ra3 3-Ke2,Rc3 or Rh3 then 4-Rd3 exchanging the rooks or allowing the king to penetrate the black field with conseqüêncies similar the actual game...
The example is one of the best rook ending ever seen.Thank you very much.
