Replacing the front brake pads on a 2000 Porsche Boxster S.

1. Chock rear wheels.
2. Jack car and support securely on axle stands.
3. Remove wheel.
4. Remove split pin from pad retaining pin.
5. Remove pad retaining pin and spring plate.

8. Install new anti-squeal back plate and pads.

I also took the opportunity to unblock the holes drilled in the disc that had become full of brake dust.

  • Good spot there, maciej21xxx. The Michelins have now been changed for Continenal. Much softer and grippier.

  • A nicely done video! You may want to stick the needle nose through the eye of the cotter pin, it comes out with more control.

You put the spring plate on upside down but it doesn't really matter.

Next video, show us how you take the caliper off because of those stupid anti squeal plates.

    Good job on this one!

  • Why not 6

  • Are those 4 piston front?

  • Wow, nearly as easy as changing the disk pads on my mountain bike!

  • Great work!

  • enjoyed it!

As far as how I manage to stay calm, I attribute that to my bad Karma, yes , Karma. I'm sure I messed some one up in the past, may be not 14000$'s worth, but everything come back with interest , you know.

THe mechanic told me he could flush the cooling system, put it back together and I could sell it to the next fool. But i refuse to do that. I don't want to loose half a Million in 10 years.

I bought it from a lady. So no chance of bustin any heads open , LOL. She had maintained pretty well. I got the maintenance records from the shop where she had it worked on for the past 2 years. In 24 months she spent, ready for this?? 15000$ on the car. I nearly fell out of my seat when I saw that. All sorts of things too, fans, coolers, cam shaft, head gasket, tires, you name it.

  • @saeidmomtahan MANNN thats so shitty 700km's??? thats terrible! if i were you my friend i would go back to that dealership and start bustin heads openn!!! I am allways soo surprised how calm and respectful everyone from iran is, how do you guys do it???
