@musiconair You're perfectly right. And we will probably never know how many demos Reg recorded for them.
I'm certain Dick James demanded the previous recordings done under Niraki prior to Reg and Bernie's signing the contract becoming songwriters for Dick James Music.
Whether or not Dick James obtained them all is an open question.
Then there is the recording Reg did for Ray Williams at Liberty Records on his initial interview.
in those days Nicky James and Kirk Duncan were in house composers for DJM of which the songs they wrote were published by Niraki music and kindly allowed Elton John and Bernie Taupin to share the in house studio with them without DJM's official consent it was only when Dick James found out, he asked to here the demo's Elton and Bernie were recording and thought they were worth putting under contract :)
take a listen to nicky james music, he was an unbelievable singer songwriter.

"Where It's At" is credited to Reg Dwight and Nicky James.
Song published : October 1967.
Too bad "kylebedient" couldn't have provided everyone with this information.
This song was recorded solely as a 'Publisher's Demo' and never intended for commercial release.
