Carbon emissions might be increasing in China, but so are efforts to curb them. In the eastern province of Shandong, these efforts are starting to pay off. The region is home to the headquarters of China's largest solar thermal company.
Its CEO is confident that attitudes to the environment are changing in China, as the realization dawns that climate protection is profitable. The company's products sell mainly on the domestic market.
Solar is good to sell to the rural areas, then the electricity infrastructure can be light and if batteries are used aswell (as they usually are in cell phones, electric cars and laptops) then it can be good for places that are spaced out alot.
