Rally to protest downsizing of LSU Hurricane Center

I am so ashamed of my university. Dr. Van Heerdon was there for us when we needed him. I will be there for him now. This action must be overturned!

This is just more of Jindal's war on education. First he wanted to end the teaching of evolution in K-12 & instead teach creationism. Then he cut millions from the state universities. Now UNO has to ditch its athletics programs, women's studies, most art programs... now he's targeting the muckrakers. Jindal has a hand in this. The bonus - he wants to be your president so he can continue his de-evolution policies on a national scale.

The State of Louisian and LSU are a DISGRACE to this country. Thank you for this protest and making this information known to the public. We will all be protesting and make these LSU and government officials responsible and make pay the consequences. They also should be removed from their positions of power since they abuse the power they do have. What a corrupt institution !!!!!

It's amazing that so many people came out on the morning of a work day on such short notice. With time to get the word out and better scheduling, this could have easily been hundreds of people.
