Airbus A380 over Derry

The first flight of an A380 over Northern Ireland. The plane is making a landing approach to City of Derry airport (Eglinton|) and then turns right to fly to the Portrush air show. Seen from Benevenagh mountain in Limavady.

ILS approach to R/w 26 all the way to 100 ft decision height at R/W threshold! Fantastic to see it at Eglinton - (Thought it may do a touch and go) I agree though, its a shame the powers that be did not promote it fully, its probably the only time we'll have a chance to see an A380 in this part of Northern Ireland!

Yes. If it had been announced I would have been ready for the plane and could have taken a much better video. Possibly the council wasn't aware of what was going on?

Thanks for writing Claire. I didn't know the plane had come from Belfast. Unfortunately the weather was very poor - and today its even worse!

Thanks for this clip. We saw it flying away from Belfast City airport today, was great to see. We had clearer weather though which made it even better
