Shane Shanahan improvises an introduction on frame drum with overtone singing, followed by Mike Block with a cello improv, follwed by a performance of the composition "Citarruni", which is a movement from "The Taranta Project", by Sollima, commissioned by the Silk Road Project (www.SilkRoadProject.org).

This was at GALA NYC: "Global Art - Local Audience", a concert series that presents world-class musicians — not to mention Grammy-nominated — in rock, bluegrass, pop, jazz, folk and classical genres, as well as dancers and visual artists, GALA NYC serves as a platform for artists from different backgrounds to collaborate and connect with one another in unique and spontaneous ways. www.GALAnyc.com
