An Australian native Bush Turkey (sometimes called a scrub turkey or brush turkey) in my back yard.
I think this one is an adult male, judging by its yellow 'wattle'. They're usually fairly quiet, but you can actually hear this one making its distinctive 'satisfied hum' sound, just after it lands.
They are a protected species - although I'm assured they're pretty tough eatin' anyway ;-)
