Vergil's soul wasn't destroyed, just his body, so he managed to possess Nero's arm, but not fully of course.

You do know that Demons (Or Devil's in this case) in mythology (seeing as it's Dante and Vergil as the names, they're obviously based from that) when Demons died they were able to possess any human. Well, Vergil must of found an interest in Nero.

Either that or the Capcom was just plain lazy.

well vergil maybe adopted and put some of his blood within him proberly leading to his arm or conjured up a demon magic to create that arm but knowing that he may be a danger to nero he left him at a church where no one can find him then the present day in devil may cry 4 dante senced his brothers energy leading him to find nero which is why he didnt kill him

Sparda was a famous demon knight in the demon word.sparda is a legendary demon knight.they really know about legend history of sparda.sanctus say nero was a blood of sparda.."herded" meaning is a group of 1 kind of spices living in one place, so it means nero was a member of family called sparda's blood.Literally nero is 1 kind of a group sparda.berial fought sprada past 2000 years thats why he says" you are just like he was .

Come on, Nero can't be Vergil's son. Nero is 17, I believe, and Vergil would be around 30 years old if he were still alive, just like Dante, duh. So Vergil would have conceived Nero when he was 13. Not impossible, but very unlikely, since Vergil can't stand being around humans. Nero was left at the Order's doorstep, which could mean that he was left there by someone we don't know. Sparda was already dead, so it wasn't him. Anyway, I bet Nero isn't fully human, even though the guide says so.
