Another wonderful old track from the 1950's jazz scene in London. The track and contemporary photographs of the band were sent to me (once again) by John Westwood -who played drums on this track. Recorded at the Piccadilly Arcade studio on the 2nd. August 1950, the full line-up was :-
Ken Colyer; tpt. Sonny Morris; cnt. John R.T. Davies; tmb. Monty Sunshine; clt. Pat Hawes; pno. Ben Marshall; bjo. Julian Davies; bss. and John Westwood; dms.
The recording suffers a little from copying and e-mailing, BUT this is a real 'must have' for the archives of anyone (like myself !) who gets all dewey-eyed thinking of the U.K. jazz scene in the 50's and 60's.
Thanks, again, John.
