  • Well noted, there is a real neat story how I got him to perform this song on the show...and then the arrangement Gilbert Sedeno did on this was killer...it was an awesome feeling to see him perform that night and then later on the broadcast...

  • Randy was a friend and an inspiration to me when I was starting out in the music business. Our styles were completely different - but he always made me feel good about my singing - and hopeful, too. He encouraged me. I had the honor of singing with him many times at jam sessions - and just being there in the audience to marvel at both his soaring voice and his fantastic guitar playing. I miss him!

  • This guy has the same last name az me wonder if im related, like his music

  • Randy was awesome! .. A great legend. And so are all the guys in the band. Love this performance of his. He was so friendly ,helpful as well. May he rest in peace.

  • I sat in with his band in Helotes, Tx 1986 at Rene&Linda's wedding:I had played with Ernie his bro w/Little Henry Laveers 1964,and Al Gomez played with us Continental Orch/W George Rivas in mid 1970's he was just a kid, but good on the trumpet then,I 1st saw Randy with Mike&DelRays or DelKings not sure what yr,,or if that was the correct band,,

  • Top Blues,Jazz band in San Antonio, Randy Garibay ,RIP,was the greatest on Blues in San Antonio! And so were the West Side Horns, they are coming back again. With some new members but the originals are there. Like Al Gomez,,on Trumpet,Sauce Gonzalez!

  • Your dad was awesome! Too bad I never got to see him play, since I am from Phoenix, but I got to see your Tio Ernie and that was a great experience also!:)

  • Randy was on it for this one....this and Brown Eye Soul Man were 2 of the songs I would play the Harp on when I jammed with him....

He was and always will be the Godfather of the Chicano Blues.....San Antonio will never be the same....he was not only a great musician...he was a great human being....RIP
