If he had Lennox Lewis's trainer Emmanual Stewart he would have been one hell of a boxer. He had a good left jab and a nice right hook.

Bugner was a good technical boxer, but boring as hell. Its remarkable here to actually see him floor someone because he genuinely couldnt punch his way out of a wet paper bag.

Bunger was underrated as a boxer and not so well appreciated by the British public. He had a superb physique, one of the best jabs in the game and a solid chin. I remember him rocking Joe Frazier with a beautiful punch. Sure Frank Bruno beat him when he was way past his sell by date but would never have beaten Joe in his prime. He fought in an era when there were the likes of Ali, Foreman and Frazier. If he were in his prime today, he undoubtedly would be heavyweight champion of the world.

Give Bugner his due, good right. This would have been when, about 1983? Bit premature to be calling Bruno out so early in his career. His assessment of Bugner was bang on. I recall this mini-comeback was ended by Marvis Fraser Stateside. Bugner was technically sound, strong, durable and on occasion could bang with the right, but he was too laid back in the ring, too cautious, looking to counterpunch too often, not taking openings, boring to watch. Seemed more like a good sparring partner.

He did put on a desent fight against Bud in I´m for the Hippopotamus. Great movie!! I think he was in two more of those movies.

Not bad but Bud Spencer was yet a little bit stronger ;) ... I saw Joe Bugner as actor in Bud Spencer Movies and never knew that he formerly was a famous HW-Boxer (sry ;P) ...but thx to youtube ^^
