  • I was pissed when Emmo didn't win this race I mean no disrespect to Arie but this was an upset. Fittipaldi sat on the pole & blistered the track all day, clearly had the best car...

  • @fleshwoundNPG chevy and lotus are making their return for 2012 with v6 turbos, though honda will remain unfortunately

  • Arie later said that Fittipaldi was pestering him at the end, trying to unlap himself, and he didn't want to deal with the distraction. When Emmo passed him on the mainstretch, Arie says he didn't see the white flag. Back then they didn't have spotters and didn't talk much on the radio, so he didn't know it was the last lap. Seeing the checkers the next time around was a pleasant surprise.

  • Amazing, at 2:20 Paul Page/Sam/Bobby stay quiet for almost a full two minutes (over two laps) and just let the race unfold on its own. No blabber-mouth, no "Boggity" no mindless babble. They just let the beautiful sounds of those turbo engines tell the story.

And who needed all those overbearing graphics? It's nice to know the standings, but back then we got full-screen views all the time, and we still knew who was leading.

  • Those fly-by shots at the beginnin of the video are friggin' awesome.

  • This was a sweet win.

  • great news btw Chevrolet, and Lotus/Cosworth will be back for 2012 and of course Turbo chargers
