A group who could be the UAEs best drivers have been caught on camera as a 4x4 tipped onto two wheels weaves through traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The clip lasting two minutes and 43 seconds has been posted online and shows bemused motorists trying desperately to get out of the 4x4s path, while a second vehicle performs handbrake turns in the centre of the highway, spinning in a cloud of burning rubber as other vehicles swerve to avoid a pile-up.
Dubai Police condemned the drivers and said they would just install more speed cameras.
A spokesman said: this is the just to awesome.
Similar displays of jaw-dropping disregard for road safety in the UAE are also available to view on the web.
Dubai-based motor expert and road safety lobbyist Adam Kechil said the latest footage was the best example of stunt driving he has ever seen
It suggests this sort of behaviour is acceptable.
Shock at reckless driving videos
A clip of drivers performing stunts on Sheikh Zayed Road is the latest clip of crazy cars to hit the internet
As engines rev, tyres burn and horns sound, viewers of this video could be forgiven for thinking they were watching a clip of an action movie.
A suped-up Toyota truck spins 360 degrees in the middle of the central lane while ahead a 4x4 perches on two wheels, and criss-crosses the highways busy lanes.
Many motorists try to give the crazed drivers a wide berth but a convoy of other 4x4s, seemingly part of the same gang, follow behind the death-wish duo, hanging out of windows and sunroofs filming the shocking scenes on mobile phones.
A Dubai resident and car enthusiast uploaded the footage after it was passed on to him by a friend, who capture the events mid-afternoon earlier this month.
He said: I am in the 4x4 business so I have met a lot of these kind of guys who like to do stunts and push the limits. But this shocked me. All of my friends, even the crazier ones, said these guys should be on the next city of life movie.
He added: It wasnt just these two guys you can see the other white cars behind in convoy holding up the traffic and following their friends.
By 5pm yesterday the video had more than 2,100 hits.
Although there are comments on the YouTube web site condemning the footage, there are others praising it with some even accusing critics of people envious.
One viewer wrote: Who are you to judge, envious of them I suppose because you cannot do the same? And its only illegal if you are being caught.
He added: These clips do influence other people. I use these clips when Im teaching to show how dangerous driving can be and to show students that this is really cool.
There are dozens of UAE videos online stretching back years but there are several others uploaded in the last few weeks that show some motorists still have no respect for their own lives, or those of others.
In the last week, three clips have been uploaded to YouTube that show drivers filming themselves at the wheel while
speeding along Dubais major roads.
Using a mobile phone at the wheel is illegal but it does not appear to deter these motorists.
In another post, called Sheesha-2-Go, a passenger films his friend as they balance a full-size shisha pipe next to the gear stick and puff away while driving through Downtown Burj Dubai at night.
