"The New Chopper 4" WNBC 1998 CHOPPA 4

This is the FAMOUS WNBC New York, NY "The New Chopper 4" Spot. It was Produced by Pyburn Films w/ the "Voice Of God" Don LaFontaine doing the VO. It was spoofed by the Sklar Brothers in their skit "CHOPPA 4".

This was the replacement for the one WNBC used since 1995. But when this one crashed in Newark NJ in 1998, WNBC went back to using the old white one (they barely had begun to pull the peacock labels off when they had to put it back into service.}




That one though crashed also, this time in 2004--I'm sure you've seen the dramatic video. So now they went to a completely different helicopter company, and have another new chopper... FOR NOW!
