Al Stewart played on the radio, It was the Year of the Cat. I was transfixed in that moment of time, Somewhere between the melody and the sensuous rhyme. I lay motionless and daydreamed. Mostly my dream just soared with the sound, The piano, the voice, and the guitar goin' round. It was aimless, and timeless, and useless, you could say.. But 30 years later I still remember that day.

It's amazing what music can do for you. I find when I hear an old song it transports me to the time when I first listened to it. I cry when Ihear "Time Passages" or "The year of the Cat". I don't know why. I seem to have an out of body experience. My mother bought me some 45's when I was probably 8, this was one. Beautiful music indeed.

Fantastic. One of the best songs ever. He changes the lyrics at the end from "bound to leave her" to "bound to lose her" ....interesting. I like this faster more "pop" version.
