@baptistedeschrevel It's hard to understand a parent's intention in a country like India until you have experienced the culture yourself. I am an american born Indian. And I understand that in rural communities, there is less awareness of disease and more spirituality. These are highly religious people. It's how they grew up, it's how their ancestors taught them. It's their foundation. And for them, the girl is a blessing. It's not negligence. Rather ignorance.

@milytheturtle if you saw in the video "the girl with eight limbs," most babies in the part of india where she was from were abandoned if they were deformed. obviously they only worshipped her because she resembled the hindu goddess, not because they worship all babies who are different.
