Bill Maher is more of a direct descendant of Carlin's line of comedy than Jon Stewart.

To be honest, if you watch The Daily Show regularly you'll see Jon tear into politicians or the other major offenders pretty viciously at least one segment a week. I think Carlin made a good call at the end of the video.
