Doesn't he ascend the fretboard more during the verse? The upper three string shapes are very similar throughout the intro and verse, the bass note just changes to a G and a bit of a variation up on the third chord..

i'm not too sure... I played this song by ear and that's what i heard... anyway he hardly ever plays a song the same everytime, esp if it's a guitar oriented song..
